About Marzieh Eskandari
Marzieh Eskandari: I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Alzahra University, Tehran, Iran, where my research has focused primarily on Computational Geometry and Algorithm, and I have a particular interest in theoretical concepts in Computer Science. Currently, I am a research scholar in the department of computer science at the university of Memphis.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Applied mathematics (Computational Geometry and Algorithms) in October 2009 from the Amirkabir University of Technology, where I also completed my M.Sc. in October 2001 in the same field. My B.Sc. is from the Sharif University of Technology in Applied Mathematics. These two universities are the two best universities in Iran. They consistently rank among the top Iranian universities in all rankings conducted around the world over the years.
I have thought several undergraduate and graduate courses and modules on applied mathematics and computer science and supervise three graduate students each year. The average evaluation of my teaching is 19.31/20. I was the Best Teacher of Computer Science Department, in academic years 2019-2020 and 2018-2019.
As a member of the “Algorithms and Computational Geometry“ research group (ALCG) of the Amirkabir University of Technology, I teach in Winter School on Computational Geometry (at Amirkabir University of Technology) every year, which is the most important international event on Computational Geometry in my country.
I also have interest in higher education and various pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning. I have developed a course titled Problem Based Learning in STEM, for the first time in Iran.
