About Maryuri Núñez de González

Dr. Maryuri Nuñez de Gonzalez currently is a Researcher (Post-Doc) in the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center, College of Agriculture and Human Sciences, at Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas, USA.  Dr. Nuñez de Gonzalez’s research interest includes the development of functional/healthier foods, value-added food products, food safety, and food quality.  Dr. Nuñez de Gonzalez has published over 24 journals and conference papers, and co-authored 4 book chapters.  She has been recipient of several awards and recognitions including, the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture.
Dr. Nuñez de Gonzalez received her bachelor’s degree in Agro-Industrial Engineering from Universidad Nacional Experimental de Los Llanos Occidentales “Ezequiel Zamora”, Cojedes, Venezuela.  She later obtained her master’s degree in Food Engineering from Universidad de Oriente, Anzoátegui, Venezuela. Her doctorate in Food Science and Technology is from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA.
