About Mary Zajc

Mary Zajc, DNP, RN , NEA-BC is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Sacred Heart University. Mary obtained both a BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and her DNP from SHU. She has served as both nurse and nurse educator. Mary is a certified childbirth educator and lactation consultant and specializes in maternal child health with over 25 years experience. In her many years of nursing she has served various capacities such as Education Manager for Maternal Child Health and Director of both Patient Care Services and Women's and Children's Services. She developed and directed the Breastfeeding Resource Center at Northern Westchester Hospital and co-founded the Caregivers program at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Mary also received the Claire Murray Best Practice Award (2019, 2021) from NYONEL.
