About Martha M. Phillips, Ph.D.

In the realm of natural sciences, Martha Phillips is a plant ecologist and a wetland ecologist. Her work focuses on what long-term monitoring can tell us about the stability of wetland communities, along with an emphasis on invasive species (especially Reed Canary Grass. In the realm of teaching, effective science pedagogy is her primary scholarly interest. This has how she teaches in both class and lab. Most recently, Dr. Phillips has taken on the position of Director of the Core Curriculum.
