About Mark Sutherland

Mark is a broad-based professional with extensive experience in managing libraries and technology in the higher education sector. With international experience in Africa and Australia, his career has spanned more than three decades. Mark Sutherland's current interests include the changing role of libraries in a world where the lines between professionals, amateurs and the public are blurring, particularly through the use of mobile technology and social media. Other interests include repositioning libraries to support research in an age of increasing innovation, collaboration with industry and engagement with communities. He has also played a significant role in redevelopment of libraries as spaces in conjunction with architects and other professionals and retains a keen interest in this area.
