Marshall University School of Music to host Tenth Annual Festival of New Music,
February 28, March 1, 2019.
 
Huntington, W.Va –Marshall University School of Music will host its Tenth Annual Festival of New Music on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1, 2019.  The festival will feature the music of Dr. Michael James Olson, Edwards Distinguished Visiting Professor of the Arts, festival guest composers, and Marshall University Composition Students. Three Festival concerts feature solos, chamber music, electro-acoustic music, and film; and performance venues are Smith Recital Hall on the Huntington campus, 5th avenue Baptist Church in Huntington, and Black Sheep Burrito and Brews.
   Featured guest performers Linda Chatterton, Maja Radovanlija flute and guitar duo from Minneapolis, MN, the MU Percussion Ensemble, Edwards Distinguished Visiting Professor of the Arts, Michael James Olson, and Marshall University students and faculty.

A concert of new works by festival guests, and Marshall University Student Composers
 
Friday, March 1, 201
Concert Two: Guest Artists Linda Chatterton, flute; and Maja Radovanlija, guitar
12:00 Noon MUsic Alive, Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, 1135 5th Avenue, Huntington, WV. A chamber music concert featuring new works for flute and guitar.
 
Concert Three: Electrifest II
9:00PM Black Sheep Burrito and Brews 279 9th St, Huntington, WV 
works by PSP, Mark Zanter, Dan Dean, and Michael James Olson
