Marshall University to host Society of Composers Region III Conference,
February 25-27, 2016
Huntington, W.Va –the Society of Composers Region III Conference offers 10 concerts of new music by internationally recognized composers, paper sessions, and a host of guest performers. Thursday-Saturday 7:30PM concerts feature the MU Percussion Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble, Wind Symphony conducted by Brian O. Walden; and Adam Dalton (guest conductor), Orchestra conducted by Dr. Reed Smith, MU faculty; notably Dr. Michael Stroeher, Dr. Julio Alves, and Mrs. Kristen Alves who will perform concerti on Friday, February 26, and Saturday, February 27 respectively.
Performance venues include Smith Recital Hall, and Jomie Jazz Center Forum on the Huntington Campus, First Presbyterian Church, 1015 5th Avenue, and The Marshall University Visual Art Center 927 Third Avenue, Huntington, WV.
