About Mark Geil

Mark Geil is a Professor of Biomechanics and Associate Dean for Research and Operations in the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University. He also has faculty appointments at Georgia Tech and Georgia State University. Dr. Geil received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from N.C. State University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Ohio State University. He helped create the world’s first entry-level MS degree program in Prosthetics and Orthotics while at Georgia Tech, which was recently transferred to Kennesaw State. Dr. Geil is a Fulbright Senior Specialist awardee, winner of the Thranhardt and Research Awards from the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. His research focuses on locomotion biomechanics and improvement of mobility in individuals with limb loss and neuromotor disorders, particularly in pediatric populations.
