About Marisol Florén-Romero

Marisol Florén-Romero manages FIU Law Library legal reference, outreach and legal research instruction activities. She oversees the acquisition and development of FIU Law Library’s foreign and international collection and is the Special Collections librarian. Dr. Florén-Romero additionally teaches comparative foreign and international law legal research and provides reference assistance to students and faculty of FIU Law.
Dr. Florén-Romero is the recipient of the 2015 Excellence in Librarianship award from FIU’s Faculty Senate. This honor recognizes her achievements in developing the Mario Diaz Cruz CollectionCaribbean Collection, and FIU Law Library’s other Special Collections, superior legal research techniques, and devotion to serving the FIU Law and South Florida legal community as a specialist foreign and international law librarian. As Assistant Director for Library Services, Dr. Floren-Romero has expanded FIU Law Library’s services to include enhanced reference and programming services. She is also instrumental in the activities of FIU Law Library’s Digital Initiatives Center, ensuring that open-access collections are properly cataloged with robust bibliographic informatio
