The Skill of a Seeker: Rowling, Religion, and Gen 9/11
(2015)
  • Marilyn R. Pukkila
Abstract
Here is the first chapter of my book on Harry Potter and the religious and spiritual experiences of the generation that grew up with him. Based on what I learned from my students in my course on "Religious Responses to Harry Potter", I describe the ways in which Rowling's approach to the "big questions" (what is a soul; why is there evil; what happens when we die) allows people of any religion or none to consider these spiritual themes in a comfortable framework.

The entire book is available through various bookstores, the publisher Polar Bear & Co. , Amazon, KIndle, and several print on demand services.
