About Marie O Neill

Marie O' Neill works as Head of Enhancement at CCT College Dublin and is a member of the CCT Management Team. Her role involves working with institutional staff to implement enhancements to teaching, learning and research activities. Previously, Marie worked as a professional librarian in the libraries of the Technological University Dublin, University College Dublin, the Oireachtas, the Welsh Office, King's Inns and Dublin Business School. Whilst working as Head of Library Services at Dublin Business School, the Library went on to win Best Library Team at the 2017 National Education Awards. Marie is also the originator and co-founder of the MSc in Information and Library Management at Dublin Business School which is accredited by the Library Association of Ireland. In 2019, Marie delivered a national iteration of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning's PACT digital badge in partnership with the National Forum and Munster Technological University. In 2021 Marie acquired a National Forum digital badge on Getting Started in Online Teaching and Learning including the facilitator badge and a National Forum digital badge in Universal Design in Teaching and Learning including the Facilitator badge.

Marie has over fifteen year's experience of representing library, research and academic support functions during accreditation and validation exercises. She is also a Council member of the Library Association of Ireland as well as a member of the Association's Library Publishing Group. Marie is also Social Media Coordinator for the International Federation of Library Association's Special Interest Group on Library Publishing, Marie represents CCT on HECA's HAQEF Committee, the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning's Advisory Group on a national professional development recognition framework and Quality and Qualification's Ireland's National Academic Integrity Network. Marie has published in a number of academic and professional journals and has presented at a range of national and international conferences. She is also a former Managing Editor of the library published journal DBS Business Review. Marie has undertaken peer review for Aishe-J, the Irish Journal of Academic Practice and the Irish Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning.
