Dr. Mariano Macias is a Adolescent Medicine specialist in the Department of Pediatric's in the Children's Hospital (LHSC).

Dr. Mariano Macias joined de Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Western University as an assistant professor in June 2022. Dr. Macias obtained his medical degree and postgraduate training in Paediatrics in Monterrey, Mexico at Tecnologico de Monterrey. He continued his training at the Hospital of Sick Children/the University of Toronto, where he completed an Adolescent Medicine fellowship. During this time, he developed an interest in adolescent mental health and eating disorders. Seeking to expand his expertise in this area, Dr. Macias pursued a pediatric/psychiatric cross-departmental fellowship in adolescent eating disorders at Ontario Shores and the University of Toronto.  

Dr. Macias has been passionate about Medical Education, leading him to complete a Master's Degree in Healthcare Professionals Education in 2021 at the University of Ottawa.  Some of his clinical interests include adolescent eating disorders and their comorbidities, adolescents with chronic illnesses and coping, substance misuse, and health and emotional counselling for adolescent newcomers to Canada.
