Abstract
This 2 hour keynote presentation for Minnesota school social workers used Octavia Butler's disposition to change to support and challenge participants in dealing with racial tensions and the 2020 pandemic. After participants identified their resistance to change, they considered how to engage in difficult conversations using Martin Buber's classic "I-Thou" framework.
