Abstract

The photoinduced surface relief grating (SRG) formation in chalcogenide GexSe1-x (0≤x<0.4) thin films is studied. An increase of SRG formation efficiency and photoinduced birefringence is observed for the films with an excess of selenium content (x<0.33). In the process of SRG formation the photoinduced displacement of film material takes place from s- to p- polarization direction state in interference pattern of light. Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) data show compositional changes between SRG top and bottom positions.
