Professor Mate is an Associate Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Racial Justice Initiative at DePaul University College of Law. Mate’s research centers on constitutional law, election law and voting rights, and comparative constitutional law. His recent publications have appeared or are forthcoming in journals including Yale Journal of International Law, Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Tulane Law Review, Columbia Human Rights Law Review, Berkeley Journal of International Law, and in edited volumes in Cambridge and Oxford University Press. Mate received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
