Matevosyan NR. Arterial hypertension in pregnancy with uterine fibroids.New Approaches in Terminology, Prevention, and Treatment of Preeclampsia, Moscow (1997)
Of the 390 screened pregnancies with uterine fibroids, arterial hypertension was present it 17 (4.35%) women age 22-46 years. In 23.5% cases, uterine fibroids were detected first time in pregnancy. The diameter of myomatous nodules ranged between 3.4 - 15.7 cm. Arterial hypertension was the manifest of Hypertonic IIB disease in 29.4% , Hypertonic IIA disease in 17.6%, gestational hypertension in 5.8%, mild preeclampsia in 22.3%, and severe preeclampsia in 5.8% cases. The average increase of systolic pressure was 30 mmHG, with an average of 9.2 mmHG difference of diastolic pressure between two arms in supine position (p < 0.02). All women with preeclampsia had preexisting conditions, including hypertensive disorders, stage I-III obesity in 4 cases, chronic pyelitis in 8 cases, history of miscarriages in 2 cases. In 2 cases, there was a steady decrease of diastolic arterial blood pressure postpartum. Arterial blood pressure was normalized in puerperal woman with no preexisting hypertonic disease.
