Optimal control of chemical reactions with the parallel multi-memetic algorithm

Abstract
This paper deals with the parallel multi-memetic algorithm based on the Mind Evolutionary Computation (MEC) technique for solving optimal control problems of various chemical reactions. The article describes the algorithm outline along with its parallel software implementation, which was utilized to obtain the optimal control for two chemical reaction models. The first model describes the thermally-stimulated luminescence of polyarylenephthalides; the second one - the catalytic hydroalumination of olefins. Both processes are of significant practical importance. In this work, the optimal control problem was reduced to a non-linear high-dimensional global minimization problem and was solved with the proposed algorithm. The numerical experiment results are presented in the paper. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.
