Magazine Redesign: Revolver
GLITCH 2023: National Student Design Competition

Abstract
As part of my project, I took on the challenge of reviving “REVOLVER” magazine, which is well-known for its coverage of North American heavy metal and hard rock music. The design of band gear cases, with their stencil and grunge typography, inspired me to redesign the magazine’s masthead. Employing the stencil spray technique infused a fresh, raw, and unfiltered aesthetic into the magazine’s branding.

GLITCH 2023: National Student Design Competition is an exhibition of student work organized by MSU's AIGA Student Group. A national call for entries was announced in 2022. Students from across the United States submitted work, glitchy or not, created between January 31, 2022 and January 1, 2023. Works were reviewed and selected by a jury of professional designers.
Faridfar's piece earned an Honorable Mention in this competition.
