About Mahdieh Zabihimayvan

I am a PhD student of computer science at Wright State University, and am working under supervision of Dr. Derek Doran as a graduate research assistant in the Web and Complex System Lab (WacS), a part of Kno.e.sis Research Center.
My research interests broadly include developing models to discover data patterns and characteristics which lead to improve existing algorithms for more efficient, safer, and easier life.
My primary focus is on using applied machine learning, soft computing, data characterization, and statistical analysis for big Web data with the aim of anomaly detection, and characterizing Web traffic, content, and network structure.
Also as the background knowledge, I am focusing on Web scraping, data/text mining, and topic modeling.
