Data Visualization: A Guide to Visual Storytelling for Libraries, edited by Lauren Magnuson
Journal of Web Librarianship (2017)

Abstract
By now, most librarians have at least heard of data visualization. With the recent attention given to library assessment efforts, it is no surprise that articles on data visualization have proliferated within the library literature over the last five years. Now, books like Data Visualization: A Guide to Visual Storytelling for Libraries are pulling it all together, combining best practices, case studies, and future possibilities into a single volume. In this LITA Guide, editor Lauren Magnuson sets out to provide librarians with “the knowledge and tools needed to begin transforming … data into a compelling, meaningful story” (xiii), whether they are experts at working with data or new to the endeavor.
