Abstract
In the edited collection, Staff Development: A Practical Guide, more than twenty contributors from the realms of academic libraries, public libraries, and library consulting share their expertise on how to develop library staff for better recruitment, retention, and productivity. As the fourth edition of this title (and the first revision in twelve years), it includes new chapters on aligning staff development goals to the organization’s strategic plan, implementing cross-functional training within the library, and leading from any position. It also contains updated technical information (e.g., it replaces references to overhead projectors with a chapter on using YouTube for training).
