Marie-Claire has a background in education through teaching Latin Languages, especially French and Spanish, in Australia, France and Spain. She was also an examiner for the British Association Examiners Board in Marbella, Spain. During her eight years in Spain, she had industrial experience in business, law, banking and the building industry using extensively her skills in Interpreting and Translation.

Marie-Claire has been at Bond University for 25 years.  Her areas of expertise are in Intercultural Communication, French and Spanish Language. She has coordinated the European languages since 1991.

Marie-Claire is an expert in French and Spanish Language teaching methodology and has set up the Romance language departments at various educational institutions in Australia and Spain. She developed the French and Spanish Language courses at Bond which boasts exchange programs where students complete their Major degrees in France and in Spain. She was instrumental in establishing the programs between Bond and universities in France and Spain.

Marie-Claire is on the selection committee for the candidates who apply for an Internship at Austrade, in Paris. 

Marie-Claire has published 5 books since 2007, the fourth co-edited with Dr Stephen Holden. Her fifth book, WOMEN AND WAR: Opening Pandora’s Box, co-edited with Roni Wildeboer from Victoria, and Professor Ami Rokach, Israel and Canada, was released at the beginning of February, 2017 by Nova Science Publishers, New York.

Extra-curricular activities include interpreting and translating for Law firms on the Gold Coast as well as being an official interpreter with Migrant Services.
