About Mahmoud Arayssi

Mahmoud Arayssi assumed the position of Assistant Professor of Finance at the Lebanese American University School of Business on February 15, 2012.
A national of Lebanon, and the U.S., Dr. Arayssi is a global citizen with a global reputation in fields ranging from emerging markets, international development, the Middle East, to the financial sector. He has a wealth of experience in software development, banking, and academia.
He was responsible for a maintaining private investment at many mutual funds in the U.S.A. and infrastructure portfolio of investments, and was part of the management team of the Omgeo Corporation in Boston, USA. He was the Economic Consultant at ESCWA for the Survey of Social and Economic conditions in the ESCWA region. Prior to serving at the Lebanese American University, he worked in the U.A.E. as a business faculty specializing in financial services and educational technology.
After graduating from high school in International College Beirut, Lebanon, and attending the American University in Beirut, Mr. Arayssi earned degrees from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University- Bloomington. He has published, especially on the Middle East and has taught at the Boston University and Indiana University.
