Open Access Initiative at U.S. Department of Transportation: Library Perspective
Transportation Research Board 93rd Annual Meeting (2014)
  • Lisa Zilinski, Purdue University
Abstract
The America COMPETES Act requires the Office of Science and Technology Policy to direct federal agencies to maximize access to results of federally funded scientific research. This access includes open digital access to publications, machine-readable data sets, and related metadata arising from federal research funding. This session reviews the status of the U.S. Department of Transportation's implementation of the open access requirement and the potential impact of the new policy on principal investigators and research institutions.
