Abstract
From 1920 to 1955, one-room country schoolteachers-in-training received hands-on experience at WKU's Rural Training School, also called the Model Rural School or Rural Demonstration School. Housed in a limestone cottage on WKU's campus, the school educated students in first through sixth grades under the supervision of Ethel Baker Clark and Mae Wilson Pedigo. This article appeared as a "Moment in History" feature in WKU Spirit, Summer 2015, pp. 52-53.
