European Food and Feed Law Review
(2020)
Abstract
The Fundación Triptolemos (Triptolemos Foundation) recently published a report on food classification, entitled ‘The Ultra-Processed Concept.’ (https://app.box.com/s/ijsrrirqn7m2rnr81wy2mb8ml78tmi1y). This paper was approved on 18th February 2020 and it claims that science is the driving force behind all aspects of human development and that the growth of the human race should take place within an ethical framework and in a balanced and sustainable fashion. But this cannot be achieved if the same evolution does not take place within the global food industry at the same time; and, within this, the role of science and responsible business activity is fundamental.
