Comments

Increasingly sophisticated electronic technologies are having a profound impact on how libraries purchase, access, publish, preserve, and disseminate information. In this issue you will learn about some exciting new methods for making our Special Collections holdings available online, for showcasing the scholarship of our faculty and students on the World Wide Web, and for helping our patrons navigate the rich and exciting (but sometimes daunting) world of online information. As scholarly communication patterns continue to evolve in response to technological innovations and market influences, academic libraries are continually challenged to assess and prioritize current and potential services and resources in order to ensure institutional academic programs are adequately supported. In this and future newsletter issues, we look forward to sharing with you how Henderson Library is attempting to provide Georgia Southern faculty and students the learning tools and the access to cutting edge scholarship that they need in a very competitive educational environment.
