Beyond Strunk & White: Using Comics to Teach Students to Write Analytically

Abstract
This presentation offers my approach to teaching analytical writing in a first-year college composition course using a comic book. I identify some of the obstacles both I and the students had to overcome, describe the assignment I used, discuss the resources that helped students master the comic book form enough to engage with the paper assignment, and share my evaluation of the results of the experience.
