About Lindsey R. Turner

Dr. Lindsey R. Turner started at Boise State University in 2014.  She is currently a Research Professor with the College of Education, and the founder and director of the Initiative for Healthy Schools. Dr. Turner received her Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis on Health Research and Statistics and her M.A. in clinical psychology with an emphasis on Health Behavior Theory both from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her current research examines the development and outcomes of health-promoting environments in schools and communities, including a focus on the implementation of physical activity and nutrition policies in U.S. elementary schools. Dr. Turner is an ad-hoc peer reviewer for a number of publications including the Journal of School Health, Prevention Science, and the American Journal of Public Health.
