Selling or Helping? Prescribing Gender to Women, Wives, and Mothers through DTCASouthern Sociological Society Annual Meetings (2015)
AbstractOur research examines the ways in which DTCA uses traditional gender roles to sell prescription medications. While several studies have focused on medications specifically targeted toward women and women’s problems, relatively few have examined the gendered nature of a wider variety of drugs. Our analysis thus looks at medications for a wide variety of body systems and illness states.
