About Linda Silva Thompson, Ph.D.

Dr. Silva Thompson serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Assessment for the Office of Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor specializing in business management, personal finance, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Silva Thompson’s areas of research interest focus on Middle Class Asset Building and Wealth Inequalities, especially ROSCAs (Rotating Savings & Credit Associations) and Wealth Accumulation in Long Island New York Black Upper & Middle Class Neighborhoods; Financial Inclusion; Urban and Faith-based Economic Community Development; and Urban Small Business Development. Before her academic career, Dr. Silva Thompson was an accomplished entrepreneur, acting as the Managing Partner of the largest certified minority and women owned real estate sales and management firm in Western Massachusetts, as well as the co-founder of the area’s first minority-owned development corporation and construction firm.
