About Linda Ghent

Linda S. Ghent is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Eastern Illinois University. Her research interests are varied and include the economics of voting, the economics of aging, as well as the development of innovative ways to teach economics. She is currently the editor of the Journal of Economics Teaching, which is a journal devoted to economic pedagogy. As past president of the National Economics Teaching Association, she remains on the board and helps to organize its annual conference. She developed the popular senior seminar, Pop Culture Economics and teaches it as often as possible. Her most recent (non-teaching) research involves examining the voter referenda and sales of recreational marijuana.    

Dr. Ghent has received numerous awards for both teaching and service, including several Achievement & Contribution Awards from the university as well as the Luis Clay Mendez Distinguished Service Award.
