About LiLi Li

Mr. LiLi Li is Professor/Research Services Librarian at the Georgia Southern University Libraries. In addition to his first ALA-accredited master's degree in Library and Information Sciences, he also earned his second master's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) in 2004.

From 1998 to 2001, he worked at different companies as IT Consultant, Programmer/Analyst, and Software Engineer/Developer. During his IT careers, he designed, developed, enhanced, and maintained large enterprise client/server applications. Also he accumulated his valuable real-world IT experiences in the fields of computer software life-cycle design and development, client/server architecture, database design and maintenance, web applications, and user technical supports.

Since the summer of 2002, Mr. Li has been promoting web-based academic library information services and instructions at Georgia Southern University Library. He uses HTML, XHTML, DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, PHP, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Access2010, and MySQL to design, develop, and enhance web-based library applications. He is a university library liaison to Departments of Computer Science, Information Technology, and Information Systems. Also, he is in charge of the university library’s distance learning services for online users. He has published and presented on academic library information technologies at state, national, and international conferences.

His first book, which is titled “Emerging Technologies for Academic Libraries in the Digital Age”, was published in 2009. Based on the statistics collected by the WorldCat by May 30, 2021, 443 university libraries worldwide, including the British Library, Cambridge University, Cornell University, Princeton University, Purdue University, Rice University, Stanford University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Yale University, etc., have already collected this book.

His second book, which is titled "Scholarly Information Discovery in the Networked Academic Learning Environment', was published in 2014. Based on the OCLC WorldCat's statistics by May 31, 2021, 816 university libraries worldwide, including British Library, Emory University, McGill University, OCLC, Purdue University, Stanford University,University of California at Berkeley,University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, etc., have purchased this book.

In addition, Dr. Sharon Q. Yang and Mr. Li worked together to publish a book titled "Emerging Technologies for Librarians: A Practical Approach to Innovation", which was published by Chandos Publishing in 2015. Based on the OCLC WorldCat's statistics by May 31, 2021, 776 university libraries worldwide, including Cornell University, OCLC, Stanford University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, etc., have purchased this book.
