About Lee Parton

Dr. Lee Parton joined Boise State University in 2018 and is currently an assistant professor for the Department of Economics.  He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from North Carolina State University and his B.S. in Economics with a focus on Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  Dr. Parton’s research focuses on measuring and understanding the effects of environmental regulation and land use policy. He is currently working on several projects including measuring willingness to pay for public land use, analyzing the distributional effects of random violence in communities and measuring producer responses to climate change policy uncertainty. Lee is also working on a discrete choice experiment valuing offshore wind farms and a project involving the measurement of inter-industry technology spillovers caused by environmental mandates and regulation. He is currently a member of a number of associations including the American Economic Association, the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, and the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association.
