About Lawrence S. Zacharias

Larry Zacharias is associate professor of Law, Organization and Policy in the Management Department of the University of Massachusetts. Over the years, he has taught the social issues course for the Master of Business Administration program, as well as graduate classes on organization theory and corporate governance. His research is on a broad range of historical subjects, including urban history, labor relations, and corporate governance. He has co-authored two books, Managers vs. Owners: The Struggle for Corporate Control in American Democracy (with Allen Kaufman and Marvin Karson), and Of Cabbages and Kings County: Agriculture and the Formation of Modern Brooklyn (with Marc Linder). The latter book won the Theordore Saloutos Memorial Award for best book on the history of agriculture in 1999. He is on the editorial boards of the journal Organization and the Journal of Family Business Management.
