About Lauren Leigh Hinthorne

I am a qualitative methodologist interested in the theory, practice and analysis of visual research (i.e. research that makes use of and/or produces visual material as an integral part of the research process). Much of my work is located in a public policy or international development context, and negotiates complex notions of power, identity, perception and expertise.
At present, I am engaged in projects critically examining issues of voice and relationship in the context of a research encounter. I am also keenly interested in the politics of evidence as it pertains to both visual research practice and qualitative research more generally.
