About Laura Hatfield

Dr. Laura M. Hatfield joined the Sport Management faculty at Liberty in 2016. She serves as an Associate Professor and the Chair of Sport Management Studies. She teaches in the areas of organizational behavior and leadership, public relations and communications, social issues, marketing, and student professional development. Her research interests include the areas of work-family conflict, organizational communication, and the scholarship of teaching.
Dr. Hatfield has prepared students, developed academic programs, and fostered industry relationships at universities across the South, including the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, the University of Missouri, the University of West Georgia, Texas A&M University, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Hatfield’s work in the classroom is fueled by her background in coaching, camp administration, development and fundraising, event management, and academic services for student-athletes. She played and coached volleyball at Liberty University during the 1990s. Her years spent working in intercollegiate athletics guide and inform her work in the classroom.
