About Laura L. Gallo

Dr. Laura L. Gallo is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the School Counseling Cognate in Boise State University’s Department of Counselor Education. Dr. Gallo is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Idaho, Licensed School Counselor in Iowa, and a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She received her M.A.Ed. in School Counseling and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision through the University of Iowa. Her professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors, and the American School Counseling Association to name a few. Dr. Gallo taught for eight years as a bilingual elementary educator in rural, predominately Latino, communities in Iowa, and more recently practiced as a high school counselor for ten years before coming to Boise State. Her research interests include suicide prevention and assessment, school counseling supervision, and the effects of social media on child and adolescent development.
