A Study of Stress among University Teachers

Abstract

The advancement in information technology made the information access very easy and globally. This explosion in information and knowledge in modern age increases the stress level on teachers to update and provide latest knowledge to the students. The excessive stress affects the personality of a teacher.

In this paper, a study is done regarding the stress level of science teachers and arts teachers. The mean stress scores of science teachers came out to be 38.0 with S.D. of 6.40 and n= 30. The mean stress scores of arts teachers was found to be 25.41 with S.D. of 9.87 and n= 60. The difference between these two mean stress scores is quite large, which is not good for their health.
