Abstract
The article provides information regarding an activity for high school science education, which focused on a herpetology research experience (HRE), that utilized mobile devices as data-collection methods to promote student engagement. Details related to the six field ecology studies of the HRE, the mobile device data-collection methods, and the activity's outcome are provided
