Abstract
Group 4 metal complexes containing terminal imido ligands have received considerable attention over the past few years. 2- 7 However, metalloporphyrin species containing imido ligands are quite rare and only a small number have been characterized. 8-11 Smieja et al. recently reported the first X-ray crystallographic study of an organoimido metalloporphyrin complex, (TTP)Os(=NC6~-p-N0z)z. 12· 13 We now wish to report a general method for the preparation of the first (organoimido)titanium porphyrin complexes from the reaction of (TIP)TiCh with lithium amides.
