About Kurt Mundorff

Kurt Mundorff writes on issues of genocide, child welfare, and international legal history. Most recently, he is author of A Cultural Interpretation of the Genocide Convention (Routledge 2020), which is based on his doctoral research. His LLM thesis on article 2(e) of the Genocide Convention, which prohibits forcibly removing children from protected groups, was published by the Harvard International Law Journal. This research is informed by Kurt's experience investigating reports of child maltreatment as a Child Protective Specialist for the City of New York. Areas of specific interest include racial and class disparities in child welfare and especially the deleterious effect of child removal (family separations) on minority communities. He has provided expert testimony on child protection matters in New York State and federal courts.
