About Kristine Johnson

I have long been interested in the reasons why people use digital media, including websites and mobile digital media devices. Specifically, I examine the attitudes and behaviors associated with the use of these media and develop strategic marketing and advertising approaches in relation to my findings. I believe my contribution to this field of study to be of value, and in particular, I find my use of large-size study samples to be of special interest, as the data is representative of the general population (an approach commonly used by advertising professionals but not well utilized among advertising academics). My research interests are also based in part on examining information that can be utilized in the classroom, which I see as imperative given the applied nature of advertising courses. Finally, I use my background in radio and podcasting as a basis for further identifying advertising and marketing strategies.
