About Kristen Maisano, OTD, MAEd, OTR/L

Dr. Kristen Maisano, OTD, MAEd, OTR/L has been practicing occupational therapy since 2005. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Science in occupational therapy in 2005 from Misericordia University, Dallas, Pennsylvania. Kristen earned her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy at Boston University, Boston Massachusetts, in May 2010. In 2011, Kristen joined the Department of Defense as an occupational therapist working with service members diagnosed with mild traumatic brain and post-traumatic stress disorder. Kristen has presented on the topics of traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder at multiple state conferences. Kristen transitioned into academia in 2014 and joined the OTA faculty of St. Catherine University as an Assistant Professor in August 2016. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. In May of 2022, she earned a Master of Arts in Education (MAED) with a focus on curriculum and instruction from St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Minnesota. Kristen’s scholarship efforts focus on the emotional well-being of college students. She maintains a clinical practice at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC working with a variety of diagnoses including CVA and TBI on a PRN basis.
