About Krista Ollom-Klein, DNP, RN, CNE

Krista Ollom-Klein, DNP, RN, CNE, holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from St. Catherine University. She earned her Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential in 2012 and is pursuing the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator certification. Dr. Ollom-Klein specializes in medical-surgical acute care settings focusing on neurological/neurosurgical and gastroenterology.

Her pedagogical expertise lies in the baccalaureate nursing program, particularly in simulation, clinical, and skill labs. Her scholarly contributions include presenting at the 2024 Midwest Interprofessional Conference on the topic "Promoting Interprofessional Collaboration through Simulation Debriefing: A Case Study of Managing a Complete Patient Scenario." Additionally, she has shared her findings from her DNP project on "Implementing Mindfulness-Based Interventions with Nursing Students to Decrease Anxiety in the Simulation Setting." She has contributed to the 2nd International Integrative Nursing Symposium with a presentation on baccalaureate nursing students' perceptions regarding setting intentions before patient care activities in a nursing skills lab.

Dr. Ollom-Klein has held several leadership roles at St. Catherine University, including chairing the committee of students and coordinating courses. She is an active member of the advisory committee for the Institute of Simulation and Interprofessional Learning, the committee of students, the College for Women, and the Nursing Faculty Organization. Moreover, she dedicates her time mentoring new faculty and nurse educator students.
