I am an Assistant Professor of Literacy and Cultural Studies in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership at Utah State University. Prior to becoming a professor, I taught kindergarten, second, and third grade in South Carolina. My teaching and research emerge at the intersections of contemporary childhood studies, literacies studies, and teacher education. The majority of my work focuses on children's encounters with popular culture in their classroom literacy practices.
