About Kimberly J. Whalen

Professor Whalen joined the Valparaiso University faculty in the fall of 2010.
As the health sciences librarian, Kim is the liaison to nursing, public health, health care leadership, health care administration, health science, physician assistant, occupational therapy, and kinesiology/exercise science. Kim participates in one-on-one instruction, group instruction, reference assistance, collection development, and outreach.
She supervises Valparaiso University's Candid Funding Information Network (FIN) and related grant seeking and philanthropy resources and programs. Kim also works with the Career Center to provide career related research resources and programs to the VU community.
Prior to joining the Christopher Center team, Kim was a librarian for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Career Resource Centers, a science and business librarian at Purdue University Calumet, a knowledge manager for Grenzebach Glier + Associates, and a business librarian for Emory University's Goizueta Business School. Before she became a librarian, Kim spent over 10 years in marketing and communications, fund raising, and alumni relations positions within Chicago area non-profits.
