About Kim Read

Kim Read is currently serving the university as Interim Dean of Libraries. In this role, she leads the university libraries in support of student success, faculty instruction and research, and staff excellence. In addition to being responsible for the operational management of the library, she provides leadership to advance strategic initiatives of the library and university, including the campus Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative. She is passionate about equity in education, learning, and access to information.

Kim joined Concordia in 2014 as a Distance Education Librarian primarily teaching and supporting online students pursuing their Masters in Education. Kim received her Master of Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, her Master of Library Science from Emporia State University, and her Bachelors of Anthropology from Colorado College, where she also studied piano performance.
