Proposal for Presentation

The globalization of health professions education and incorporation of interprofessional learning experiences naturally engage students in interactive learning. This results in the formation of professionals that engage in collaborative practice and team-based care, ultimately leading to improvement of the services delivered to patients and more efficient use of the resources available for health care. Interprofessional learning experiences should focus in the preparation of health professionals that intentionally work together in building safer and better health care system centered on the patients and the community. This presentation will explore the educational principles behind interprofessional education beyond the campus, and explore the learning that happens in the mission field.
