About Kevin McDonough

As the Electronic Services Librarian at Northern Michigan University, I manage the library's electronic resources. I also work at the reference desk twelve hours a week and teach instruction sessions. On a regular basis I teach AIS 101, a one credit information resources course.
My scholarship focuses on book reviews for Choice Magazine, American Reference Books Annual, and Reference Reviews. In addition, I provide peer review of online educational based websites for MERLOT. MERLOT is a user-centered, collection of peer reviewed higher education, online learning materials, cataloged by registered members (including NMU) and a set of faculty development support services.
Outside of work I am a big outdoors person. I keep active by biking, skiing, jogging, walking, hiking, and weightlifting. I have started some small scale beaver trapping this year and have plans to develop more bushcraft skills. I have two young kids and wonderful wife who works at the visitor center for Seney National Wildlife Refuge
